  • What is the capacity of the belts?

  • Capacities range from 10 rnd, 25, 50, 100, 200, 500 rounds. Custom lengths can be made to order.

  • How long does a belt last?

  • Belts last for thousands of loadings and firings. The belt is not in the vicinity of the fired round.

  • Where do I get 22LR belts?

  • Spare belts can be purchased from Lakeside Machine or their distributors for minimal costs.

  • Do 22LR belts come loaded?

  • No, belts are loaded by the customer. Loading a belt is very simple and no special tools are required, but a loading kit is available to assist in loading.

  • How accurate is the Razorback?

  • Accuracy is comparable to any other rimfire rifle on the market.

  • What modifications are needed for the Razorback to run on my AR15 type lower receiver?

  • The center fire buffer and recoil spring is removed from the butt stock of your lower and replaced with the supplied Razorback spacer and buffer. We recommend replacing the hammer spring with the supplied spring as well.

  • Do I need a gunsmith to install a Razorback?

  • NO. There are no tools needed to install a Razorback.

  • Will the Razorback make my semi-auto fire in Full-auto?

  • NO. The Razorback is a feed system. It does not have any way to fire on its own.

  • Will the Razorback operate on my registered M16 type lower?

  • YES. The Razorback can be ordered to be M16 compatible.

  • How does the barrel mount to the receivers?

  • The barrel of the Razorback is retained in the breech block/trunion by a set screw. It is able to be removed easily with a 1/8" hex wrench.

  • Is the barrel of the Razorback threaded for a suppressor or compensator?

  • Yes, each barrel is threaded for 1/2" X 28 threads per inch (standard)

  • How many rounds can be continually fired with a beltfed 22?

  • Many factors determine the amount of continued firing. In ideal situations, 1000 rounds  (54 seconds) of fully automatic have been documented on video. This can be found on Youtube.

  • What is needed to run links verses belts?

  • Nothing. The micro-beltfeds will run on links or belts.

  • Will the micro-beltfeds run on subsonic ammo?

  • Yes.

  • How short of a barrel can I order?

  • Lakeside Machine has successfully operated the Razorback with a 4.25" barrel

  • How many rounds will the beltfed mechanism lift vertically?

  • In ideal situations a belt of 100 rounds can be lifted vertically into the action.

  • Will the reduced power hammer spring in my AR15 lower run my centerfire uppers?

  • The reduced power hammer spring will run all standard boxer primed ammo. It has been noted that some hard primer surplus centerfire ammo has been difficult to set off.

  • Do I need feed boxes and a brass catcher to run a Razorback?

  • No. The brass catcher and feed boxes are accessory options and are not needed to fire the upper successfully.

  • How sensitive is the beltfed to lubrication?

  • The system operates best fully lubricated. 22LR is known to be dirty, so frequent lubrication is best for optimum operation and clean up.

  • What is the Razorback made out of?

  • The Razorback is made primarily of steel. The feed cover, rear scope rail, and handguard are made of aluminum alloy and anodized. The bolt is a hybrid steel/aluminum exclusive design.

  • Can I get the conversion parts to make my Ruger into a beltfed?

  • NO. All micro-beltfeds are stand alone exclusive designs and do not share any familiarity with any other firearm.

  • What ammo runs best in the micro-beltfeds?

  • Round nose full bullet weight is recommended for the best reliable feed and function. Do not run hollow points, they will be problematic. Smooth profile bullets are the best.
